Story: Nebraska Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Coalition

The Nebraska Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Coalition Strives to enhance the services provided to victims and survivors across the state. This is done through a variety of technical assistance, including the dissemination of brochures and other materials. The Coalition provides brochures and other materials to individuals and organizations free of charge.

Recently a woman called from another state. A former resident of Nebraska, she once received a copy of Coalition publication, a booklet titled Breaking the Silence: A Handbook for Battered Women.  She contacted the Coalition for a second copy to give to a friend who was in a relationship with an abusive partner. “That book really opened my eyes,” she stated. “It helped me to see what was happening. It’s a great resource. I want to give one to my friend, but I don’t want to give up my copy.” The Coalition sent additional copies to this person so she could help her friend access information and support.
