A Story from our agency:
The Antelope Valley restoration project is a flood and beautification project planned by the South Platte NRD. This project makes use of the flood plain for a public park with fountains sculpture art, outstanding landscaping along with a paved biking-hiking trail. The added value to the quality of life to this blighted area of Lincoln is invaluable. The Nebraska Trails Foundation and the Great Plains Trails Network was contacted to raise funds to financially support the building of a trail center in the park area of the project at 21st and Q streets. This trail center building will serve as the hub for the Lincoln trail system. This green building will have the dual purpose of promoting a healthy life style with health education materials and displays. With the completion of the Jayne Snyder Trails Center this coming year, the building will be a practical showcase building that all Lincoln can take pride in and enjoy its benefits.
