A Story from our agency:
The Nebraska Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Coalitoin regularly collaborates with other organizations and individuals to increase community awareness of domestic and sexual violence and to prevent future violence. The Coalition recently provided technical assistance to the Angels Theatre and their production of In My Daughter's Name. This original play is based on the true story of Amanda, a young woman murdered by a former partner. The Coalition provided feedback on the script, met with cast members, provided resources materials, and organized speakers and crisis advocates for discussions following performances. The play touched many lives, including those of the cast members. When asked to describe the impact that the show had on him, one cast member stated "It has changed my life completely, and I feel so much more aware than ever before. We need to talk about these issues."
